Membership

The United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA) is the first
national affiliate of ILCA. USLCA purpose is to work on the unique needs of
the IBCLC in the United States. Dues include an ILCA Membership.

The International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) promotes the
professional development, advancement, and recognition of International
Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) worldwide for the benefit of
breastfeeding women, infants and children.

USLCA/ILCA membership is open to all who support and promote
breastfeeding; you can join at anytime and do NOT need to be IBCLC
to be a member!

USLCA/ILCA membership runs on a calendar year (January 1 to
December 31).

If you join between January and September, dues will be applied to the
current year, and you will receive hard copies of any issues of the JHL
published during the current year.

If you join after October 1, your membership will roll into the next
year (2010). You will begin receiving the Journal with the first issue in 2010
(February). However, you will have immediate online access and member
discounts!

***If you recently earned your IBCLC credential, CONGRATULATIONS!
Please let us know your IBCLC number and recertification date, so we can
update your member record. This is necessary if you would like to be listed
on this FALC (Find A LC) Directory, since we have to confirm everyone

Support ILCA through our Partner Program and Scholarships
Partner Program: Here's your opportunity to support and foster
disadvantaged individuals and groups interested in Lactation and Lactation
Consultancy in 2010.

General Scholarship Fund: This is a general scholarship fund to assist with
an individual ILCA member attending the annual ILCA conference. The scholarship has provided
opportunities for ILCA members from developing countries and others with
hardship needs to attend the annual ILCA conferences. In doing so, they are
able to share their experience and knowledge gained with their colleagues,
thus providing educational opportunities and support for breastfeeding in
their own local areas.

ILCA would like to be able to offer several scholarships for the 2010 ILCA
Conference in San Antonio, Texas. However, as this fund depends on
donations to continue, donations are needed now.
