Glenda is the Lactation Services Manager at Brookwood Women's Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She is a Registered Nurse and Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She holds a Masters Degree in Nursing. Glenda has 25 years experience in Maternal Infant Nursing with over 15 of those years in lactation counseling. Glenda was instrumental in the formation of the first outpatient Lactation Center in Alabama in 1990. She served as the President of the Alabama Breastfeeding Coalition (ABC) 1999 through 2001 and is currently serving as the Secretary for the Alabama Breastfeeding Committee. Actively involved in breastfeeding promotion and support throughout the southeast, Glenda teaches Breastfeeding Educator Courses and speaks on a wide variety of topics at conferences. She is known for her presentations on communication and change, which are issues that impact the effectiveness of lactation consultants.
